Rockin’ Thunder returns to Edmonton to rock the city once again this summer, and you won’t want to miss it!

Rockin’ Thunder, Edmonton’s largest rock festival, is back for another high-energy weekend at the exhibition lands at the Edmonton EXPO Centre on July 11–12. Following a sold-out debut in 2025, Rockin’ Thunder returns to Edmonton bigger and louder than ever, bringing together legendary performers, fan favourites, and rising stars for two days of live music you won’t want to miss.

Be There from the Beginning

Only in its second year, Rockin’ Thunder is already making its mark on Edmonton’s summer festival scene. After a sold-out first year, expectations are higher than ever for Rockin’ Thunder 2026.

For fans who missed out the first time—or those eager to relive the experience—this summer’s festival is shaping up to be one of Edmonton’s must-attend music events.

Building on the success of last year’s event, Rockin’ Thunder returns with an incredible lineup, premium fan experiences, and two days dedicated entirely to rock music.

If you are looking for a weekend you’ll talk about long after the final encore, Rockin’ Thunder is the place to be this July.

A Weekend Packed with Rock

The weekend kicks off on Saturday with headliner Three Days Grace, joined by performances from The Glorious SonsGrandsonBif Naked, and Calling All Captains, delivering a full day of high-energy rock.

On Sunday, headliner Creed takes the stage, alongside MammothBuckcherry, and Paul Langlois of The Tragically Hip, closing out the weekend with a powerful set of rock favourites and crowd-pleasing hits.

Last year’s sold-out festival brought together Edmonton’s passionate rock community and demonstrated the demand for large-scale rock events in the city. This year’s lineup continues that momentum, offering fans a chance to experience some of rock’s biggest names right here in Edmonton.

Great music is only part of what Rockin’ Thunder has to offer. Festivalgoers can enjoy a full weekend filled with great food, cold drinks, and an unbeatable atmosphere. From BBQ classics to Ukrainian favourites, there’s something for everyone to enjoy between sets while taking in the energy of the festival grounds.

Why Rockin’ Thunder is the Show You Can’t Miss

What makes Rockin’ Thunder more than just a simply a concert is the atmosphere. It’s the feeling of being surrounded by thousands of fans who are all there for the same reason—live music, loud guitars, and a shared love of rock. From the moment you step onto the festival grounds, there’s something happening around every corner.

That kind of festival experience requires the right setting, and the Edmonton EXPO Centre provides the perfect stage for an event of this scale. With expansive outdoor grounds, plenty of space to explore, and the infrastructure to comfortably host thousands of fans, the venue helps Rockin’ Thunder bring a large-scale rock festival to the heart of Edmonton.

Its central location makes it easy for fans to attend, whether you’re coming from across Edmonton or travelling to be part of the action. With a Light Rail Transit (LRT) station just steps away and nearby hotels, getting to and from the festival is simple—so you can focus on headbanging, singing along, and soaking in every moment without the stress of travel.

Edmonton is no stranger to festivals. Throughout the summer months, there’s always live music to discover and something happening every weekend. While country music festivals are common across Alberta, rock music doesn’t always take centre stage in the same way.

Rockin’ Thunder helps fill that gap, bringing a full weekend dedicated to rock music back to the city and giving fans a chance to experience the genre on a large scale right here in Edmonton.
