Welcome to the Edmonton EXPO Centre

Whether we’re presenting the biggest names in music, hosting big-time sports events, or staging some of Canada’s largest trade and consumer shows, we give our guests plenty of reasons to stand up and cheer.

The Edmonton EXPO Centre information switchboard is open from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., Monday through Friday, with a break from 12 p.m. to 12:30 p.m. for lunch.You can reach representatives during open hours by calling (780) 471-7377.

For the comfort and safety of all patrons, laser pointers, air horns and other mechanically enhanced noisemakers are not permitted in the Edmonton EXPO Centre.

Alcohol is served at many Edmonton EXPO Centre events. Our staff are trained in responsible alcohol management, through the provincially mandated Alberta ProServe Liquor Training Program. All guests may be asked to provide a form of government issued photo identification such as a valid Driver’s License or passport which indicates the patron is at least 18 years of age. It is the Edmonton EXPO Centre’s policy to request identification from any patron looking 30 years of age or younger.

Any patron in the possession of alcoholic beverages on the premises may be requested to produce identification which must satisfy the foregoing requirements. No refunds will be offered for confiscated alcoholic beverages. Any patron who produces false identification or who passes alcohol to a minor will be subject to eviction and arrest. The Edmonton EXPO Centre reserves the right to eject anyone under the legal drinking age of 18 years who is observed to be consuming alcohol on the premises. The Edmonton EXPO Centre reserves the right to eject anyone who appears to be visibly intoxicated.

Edmonton EXPO Centre staff will not serve more than two alcoholic beverages to a patron at one time and we reserve the right to limit service to one drink per patron. The Edmonton EXPO Centre will not serve any patron whom we believe to be intoxicated.

Patrons are not permitted to bring in alcoholic beverages of any kind into the Edmonton EXPO Centre. If a guest is found trying to enter the facility with outside alcohol they will be evicted from the facility and may face charges laid by the police. Any purchase of alcoholic beverages is intended for consumption in the Edmonton EXPO Centre only and may not leave the licensed area.

Alcohol is not permitted to leave the building and/or be left unattended.  All unattended beverages will be discarded.

Only service animals trained to assist persons with disabilities are permitted within the Edmonton EXPO Centre.

Cash N Go ATMs are located throughout the building in the main gallery.

All Edmonton EXPO Centre washrooms are equipped with baby changing stations.

The bag policy for the Edmonton EXPO Centre varies by event. In general, for concert and sporting events, bags larger than 12’’ x 12’’ x 6’’ are not permitted into the concert or sporting hall. Special considerations will be made for guests with medical needs and parents caring for infants.  Please note that all bags, including purses, are subject to inspection.

The Edmonton EXPO Centre Box Office is located in the center of the facility, between Halls C and E.  The Box Office does not have regular business hours, and is only open during certain events.  Some events may set up satellite Box Office locations closer to their main entrance.  If uncertain of where to go, please ask one of our friendly Edmonton EXPO Centre Guest Experience staff, or stop by our Information Desk northeast of the Food Court.

Non-professional, non-flash still photography is permitted (disposable, digital, or 35mm cameras with no interchangeable or telephoto lens). Go Pro cameras, monopods, tripods, selfie sticks, and cameras with telephoto or interchangeable lenses (professional photography equipment) are not permitted during concert and sporting events. Policy varies by event.

For information on postponed or cancelled events, refer to your point of purchase location. For cancelled events, ticket refunds are available at point of purchase and are subject to their terms and conditions.

The following items are not permitted in the Edmonton EXPO Centre:

  • Aerosol cans
  • Alcoholic beverages, illegal drugs or other drug paraphernalia|
  • Animals (except certified service animals)
  • Clothing with offensive statements
  • Coolers and ice chests
  • Fireworks, flares, smoke bombs, sparklers, or any other non-approved pyrotechnic items
  • Full face masks (i.e. balaclava)
  • Gang colors or clothing
  • Any outside Food and Beverage products not purchased at the Edmonton EXPO Centre
  • Glass bottles
  • Hard sided coolers or cases
  • Large handbags, knapsacks, etc. exceeding 12’x12’x6’
  • Lasers or laser pointers
  • Noisemakers (i.e. Gas powered horns, megaphones, whistles, air horns with sirens)
  • Parcels, packages or items the contents of which are not displayed
  • Projectiles that can cause injury or disruption of a game or event
  • Selfie sticks
  • Skateboards, rollerblades or roller shoes
  • Streamers and confetti
  • Squirt, pellet or paint guns
  • Substances which are harmful to health or are highly flammable
  • Toy Guns/Water Guns
  • Weapons and dangerous devices of any type such as firearms, explosives, stun guns, handcuffs, clubs, batons, martial arts instruments, knives

Prohibited items also includes any items that Venue Management deems to pose a safety hazard or diminish the enjoyment of an event by other guests.

Shirts and shoes are required to be worn at all times

Guests found in possession of contraband items will be asked to remove the items from the facility or dispose of it. Guests who refuse to comply will be subject to ejection from the Edmonton EXPO Centre.

Maintaining public order and safety in licensed premises:
The Edmonton EXPO Centre acts in accordance with Section 69.1 of the Alberta Gaming and Liquor Act. Individuals who do not comply with this legislation may be removed from the Edmonton EXPO Centre by Edmonton Police Services.

Children under 24-months of age can access seated Edmonton EXPO Centre concerts, entertainment and sporting events without a ticket as long as they are able to sit on the ticket holder’s lap and do not obstruct the view or comfort of other Edmonton EXPO Centre guests. Children aged 24-months and older require a ticket to access Edmonton EXPO Centre concerts, entertainment and sporting event. Please note that some shows (especially those intended for children) may have a different ticket policy that requires children 24-months and under to have a ticket. Some shows may also have age restrictions due to performance types or licensing.

Coat check services are offered during certain events. Please ask one of our Edmonton EXPO Centre Guest Experience, or stop by our Information Desk beside the Food Court, if you are interested in checking an item.

Guest courtesy is an important element of enjoyment at the Edmonton EXPO Centre and we request all guests be respectful of others around them. Any guest who interferes with the enjoyment of another individual during an event is subject to ejection from the building.

Unacceptable behaviours include, but are not limited to, the following:

  • Drunk and disorderly conduct
  • Fighting or challenging others to fight
  • Violations of Edmonton EXPO Centre event policies
  • Violation of the local, provincial or federal laws and statutes
  • Attempting to enter back of house or restricted areas without permission
  • Throwing, discharging or launching any liquid substance
  • Willfully and maliciously disturbing another patron / employee with loud and unreasonable noise
  • Using profanity and/or offensive words
  • Use of abusive, profane or threatening language to the staff
  • Smoking in non-smoking areas
  • Consuming alcohol in unlicensed areas

To enforce these policies, Guest Experience and Security personnel are located throughout the building during all events. Those who observe other patrons violating these policies should report the incident to the nearest building representative.
The Edmonton EXPO Centre has the right to address inappropriate behaviour and failure to do so may result in eviction. Ejected patrons will not receive a refund for their tickets or be compensated in any way for their loss.

The Edmonton EXPO Centre offers a wide range of traditional and specialty food offerings and can accommodate a wide range of dietary restrictions.  Availability of concessions and outlets varies per event, and may be found both within the Halls and our central Food Court.

Event hours vary according to the nature of the event and preference of the Event Organizers.  Check out our online Event Calendar for more information on a specific event.

Appropriate attire, including shirts and shoes, must be worn. Wearing apparel which has obscene language, obscene gestures, gang affiliation or racial / religious / ethnic slurs is prohibited.

Drinking fountains are located in the main gallery near the washrooms.

Emergency exits are located throughout the Edmonton EXPO Centre and are clearly marked in red. Edmonton EXPO Centre Guest Experience and Security personnel have been trained in proper procedures for emergency response and will assist you in evacuating the premises.

Some events require random security checks/pat downs will be conducted and certain events may be subject to a full pat-down.  Items deemed to be a risk to staff and/or guest safety by event security will not be permitted into the building.  All bags are subject to search upon entry into the building or an event.

Re-entry is permitted for most Edmonton EXPO Centre events.  For some events re-entry may not be permitted, there will be signage stating this when leaving the event area.

Edmonton EXPO Centre personnel are available to assist any guests in need. Our First Aid Room is open during certain events and is located in the Main Gallery between Halls B and C.

The Edmonton EXPO Centre is committed to providing a safe, clean and friendly guest experience. Any guest in need of assistance during an event should seek out a member of our friendly Guest Experience staff or stop by the Information Desk located northeast of the Food Court.

The distribution of promotion items, handbills, flyers, pamphlets, printed materials, as well as the solicitation of signatures, is not permitted on Edmonton EXPO Centre property without written consent from Explore Edmonton Corporation management. Those distributing any of the above without prior approval will be requested to leave the property.

Items found before or during an event should be turned into our Guest Service staff. All items are turned into the EXPO Centre Lost and Found which is located at our Security Office at the back of the building.  For lost and found inquires please call (780) 491-5523.

If you notice a lost child or if you become separated from your child, please contact a member of our Security or Guest Services teams immediately for assistance.  Guest services and Security will work together to reunite both parties as soon as possible.

During certain events children/dependants can also be registered upon arrival to at the EXPO Centre.  The child/dependant will receive a wristband or sticker with the cell phone number of their parent/guardian. Please visit the Information Desk located northeast of the Food Court for more information or to register for the program.

The Edmonton EXPO Centre has a large volume of parking spaces for events. Cost per vehicle is $16.50, with no in-out privileges. Only debit/credit will be accepted on-site. Learn more on our Parking & Transit page.

Public telephones are located on the main gallery by the main entrances.

Ticket scalpers are not recognized ticket agents. If you purchase tickets from a scalper, intentionally or not, you risk being refused entry. To avoid problems with counterfeit, stolen, void or other invalid tickets, the Edmonton EXPO Centre strongly urges all patrons to purchase their tickets from authorized ticketing outlets and not to patronize ticket brokers or scalpers.

The resale of event tickets on Edmonton EXPO Centre property is prohibited.

In compliance with City of Edmonton’s Public Places Bylaw, the Edmonton EXPO Centre is a smoke free facility. Guests wishing to smoke may do so outside our venue and at least 10 metres from any doorway, window, or air intake.  All forms of Tobacco, Cannabis Products, E-Cigarettes and Vapes are subject to the above policy.

The Guest Experience department may have wheelchairs available to transport guests from one location to another when requested. Transportation service is dependent upon availability of Guest Experience staff and available resources. Guest Experience may not be able to transport all guests requesting the service.
