EDMONTON, AB (May 8, 2019) –  The Edmonton EXPO Centre is pleased to announce Marketing and Communications Specialist Caiti Farquharson has been named to the International Association of Venue Managers (IAVM) 30|Under|30 class of 2019. This prestigious list includes top venue professionals from across the globe employed in arenas, stadiums, convention centres and performing arts theatres.

Caiti is one of only two Canadians named to the class of 2019.  A graduate of MacEwan University’s Bachelor of Communication Studies program, this award formally recognizes her as an emerging leader in the venue management sector.

“Caiti is a talented professional and a brilliant storyteller.  She engages our guests and clients through the content she produces for the venue in a way that is memorable and inspiring” says Arlindo Gomes, General Manager, Edmonton EXPO Centre. “I’m proud to have her represent the Edmonton EXPO Centre, and congratulate her on this outstanding achievement.”

“There were many extremely qualified and worthy applicants this year,” stated Kathryn Eades, IAVM Foundation Director of Development.  “Tough choices were made by the Foundation’s large group of judges, which included members from the Foundation Board of Trustees and numerous past 30|UNDER|30 recipients.  Those chosen exemplify the characteristics of leadership and developing talent necessary to the future of our industry.”

Caiti joins Oilers Entertainment Group’s Event Coordinator Emily Pavelich in the class of 2019 as a recipient of the IAVM 30|Under|30 program, alongside previous Edmontonian recipients of the award: the Edmonton Convention Centre’s Mevisha Maistry (2018) and Imran Gill (2016) and Rogers Place employee Zach Cornwall (2017). The Class of 2019 will convene at IAVM’s VenueConnect Annual Conference and Trade Show in Chicago, July 21-24. For a full-list of recipients, visit the IAVM website.
