Wildfire Evacuation Payment Distribution Centre

Alberta residents affected by the northwest Alberta wildfires may be eligible for a one-time evacuation payment to help with immediate living costs, such as accommodation, food and gas. Visit alberta.ca/emergency​ ​(in the ‘Financial, educational, and social supports’ section) for information, including which communities are eligible and how to apply.

Evacuees are encouraged to apply online at alberta.ca/emergency. If you need help applying, the Alberta government has set up a payment distribution centre at the Edmonton EXPO Centre.

WHERE: Edmonton EXPO Centre, Level 3, Meeting Room 302 Up the stairs across from Halls A-C, or up the elevator at the South Entrance of Hall D (across from the Box Office)

WHEN: Wednesday, June 5 and Thursday, June 6 from 8:30am to 9pm

HOW TO GET HERE: The Edmonton EXPO Centre can be accessed via public transportation or by car. If you are using the LRT, you will need to exit at the Coliseum stop. If you are coming by car, please let the parking attendant know you are coming for evacuation payments. Parking fees will be waived for you.   • Photo identification if you have it
  • Identification for dependents, if claiming for them
  • Proof of residence/presence in the eligible evacuated communities

The Edmonton EXPO Centre is not equipped to take donations or volunteer assistance at this time.
